Electronic Drum Kit Setup (60 mins – £30)

Unboxing and setting up your new electronic drum kit can be a daunting task. To minimise shipping costs companies try to make their packaging as small as possible, this can present a difficult scenario for the consumer as the electronic kit requires precise and accurate assembly in order to function correctly and avoid accidental damage.

For peace of mind and a hassle free process play it safe and request a full set up and diagnostic service from me in your own home, all you have to do then is sit down and play.

Acoustic Drum Kit Setup & Tuning (60 mins – £30)

If you’re expecting your new drum kit to arrive fully assembled and tuned, then you may be in for a shock. Modern drum kits arrive as a giant percussion flat packs and require extensive assembly in order to function correctly, even down to the nuts and bolts.

Setting up an acoustic drum kit can be a tricky process if you’re not an expert and the longterm effects of an inaccurate setup can be dire. An improper layout of your kit can encourage bad playing technique through having to reach parts of the kit that are too near, far, high or low: the height of the drum stool must also match the height of the drummer, and the drum kit itself.

The number 1 reason why a drum kit sounds bad. Improper tuning. Tuning a drum kit correctly requires an acute ear and plenty of tuning experience so in order for your drum kit to voice correctly, professional tuning is a must. Drum heads (the plastic ‘skin’ fastened on to the top of the drum) can be expensive, and an unbalanced tension during the tuning process can cause the heads to warp at which point they will never tune correctly.

For peace of mind and a hassle free process, play it safe and request a full set up and tuning service from me in your own home. All you have to do then is sit down and play.

Electronic Drum Kit Rental (students only)

I’ve had many discussions with students and their parents regarding the dreaded drum kit purchase and the concerns are often the same – space, noise and cost.
To help with these factors I have introduced an electronic drum kit rental scheme which provides the perfect ‘try before you buy’ service. You can now rent a Yamaha DTX402k complete with drum stool and headphones for just £40 per calendar month, I’ll even deliver the kit fully assembled, and collect it when your rent term is completed. There isn’t even a minimum term so you aren’t tied in, so stop worrying and start playing.
